Photographing the funeral of a loved one

We record the funeral for those that cannot attend or wishing to have a record:

Age, infirmity or distance can prevent some members of the family from attending the funeral of a loved one. We can photograph, in a respectful manner, aspects of a funeral helping those that cannot attend to share in the occasion.

In some cases, the bereaved are lost in their own thoughts are not fully aware of who are attending the funeral; a set of photographs, perhaps provided as an album or book, provide an opportunity to look back with thanks at the family and friends who provided support.

In many cases, such an occasion is an opportunity for distant relatives to meet. Although there is sadness at the passing, this is sometimes an opportunity for family and friends to meet, especially at the wake or event afterwards.

We can usually attend at short notice.

The funeral photography service we offer can include:

  • Photographing the funeral procession leaving the home of the departed and arriving at the church, cemetery or crematorium
  • Recording the flower arrangements
  • Photographing views of the church, cemetery or crematorium - including gardens of remembrance
  • Alternatively, we can photograph just the flowers to provide a lasting record after the flowers have faded

Optionally, we can also:

Photograph mourners as required
Attend the event afterwards

Taking photographs of a funeral is unusual and could be upsetting to some people. You should ensure that the senior members of the family all agree to this. As a matter of courtesy, and to prevent misunderstandings, the mourners and the Funeral Directors should be informed.

Although we do have a basic fixed package in our price list, we can tailor our services to your requirements. Feel free to call Paul on 07881 784 259 to discuss your requirements so he can provide a quotation.
